Tectonic Theater Project’s Moment Work Institute
Announces 2017 Teacher Training Conservatory.

For the first time ever, Tectonic is training and certifying new teachers to join our faculty of acclaimed Moment Work Teaching Artists. This conservatory offers the rare opportunity to become a teacher with our renowned Moment Work Institute and join our roster of Master Teachers to teach around the world.

Taught by two of Tectonic’s Master Teachers, this intensive training is for those who would like to certify and teach with Tectonic’s Moment Work Institute. Admittance to the conservatory is highly selective and does not guarantee certification. Certification is granted upon successful completion of the conservatory, with an additional written essay and evaluation of a teaching demo.

Criteria for selection include:

  • Directing and devising experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a teaching artist
  • Availability to teach workshops and residencies for the Moment Work Institute in 2018 and beyond. Please note that if you are a full time professor or high school teacher, you are unlikely to be selected to this conservatory due to your limited availability to teach for Tectonic. Please stay tuned for upcoming trainings for college and high school teachers.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to conduct residencies all over the US and abroad, and to work with students ages 13 and above, in public and private institutions, and at all levels of ability.
  • If certified, agree to teach Moment Work exclusively under the auspices of Tectonic Theater Project’s Moment Work Institute.
  • Prior Moment Work training a huge plus.
  • Artists of color highly encouraged to apply.
